Shekinah Care Centre traces its origins of existence to the year 1976. Operations were on a small scale with a low profile being maintained for a number of years. With the astronomical increase of alcoholism and drug dependence in this nation and the related problems, this ministry has mushroomed into a multi-faceted organisation, providing an in-house rehabilitation facility and counsellor training seminars. Furthermore upon invitation, we will do presentations with visual material of the extent of the problem locally in Southern Africa. In such presentations we will cover subjects such as warning signs; how to approach and deal with those afflicted with substance dependence; the influence in the community; dealing with denial; etc, to concerned parents groups, social community groups, church and youth groups, social clubs, or to any concerned individuals.
The centre is grounded in the essentials of the Christian faith and the authority of the Scriptures. From the beginning the focus has been kept on people, and not projects, with a special emphasis of encouraging and cultivating a right relationship with God, through Jesus Christ.
Fees for the treatment programme available on request.
If you feel that you would like to leave a bequest for the care centre in your will, please contact the Director, Mike Harty.
