MISSION STRATEGY

Due to the multi-faceted nature of this mission the process to fulfill the objectives are diverse, to meet the aspirations and potential of the participants.

Individuals are equipped to sustain their own projects by facilitating their skills development, and providing them with team support.

To train and encourage Church leaders in rural areas to lead and build the local church autonomously, according to biblical standards.

INDIVIDUAL PROCESSES

The individuals on long-term recovery are drawn into all facets of the ministry necessitating the process of change, from being ministered to, in ministering and caring for others.

The individuals requiring church leadership or church planting training, are integrated into teams and challenged to discover their calling: to trust God for a vision and imparting it to others in their team, with a view to developing their own teams in specific communities.

The individuals desiring mission experience are integrated into mission teams. They are encouraged to be an example to those who are recovering from substance abuse and are challenged to grow by serving others.

BASE TEAM

The base team consists of individuals who have been recommended by Shekinah Care Centre, as well as other rehabilitation facilities. They need to conform to the disciplines and boundaries of the base, receive ongoing teaching on biblical principles, and serve the different mission teams.
As they develop, they could be integrated into the mission teams to serve the greater community.

MISSION TEAMS

Due to the diversity of the missions, teams could be involved in local communities returning to base daily, whilst others could be away for several days serving communities elsewhere in South Africa or abroad.

BASE TRAINING (LEADERSHIP & THEOLOGY)

Satellite Bible College training material is used. This material is suitable as it encompasses the diversity of our mission objectives and is suitable for local needs.

ACCOMMODATION

Church teams are accommodated in a camping area and are required to provide their own camping equipment. Camping is self-catering unless otherwise arranged with Shekinah Rural Developments.
