Shekinah Indaba September 09

The recent Heritage Day public holiday was particularly significant for the ministry of Shekinah. A number of the Management Team from Shekinah, as well as Board Members, together with their spouses met together at Kenosis Retreat, just out of Pietermaritzburg, for a meeting to ratify and adopt the amended vision for Shekinah Rural Developments.

The Shekinah Rural Developments original vision was geared for the greater Umzimkulu region, (on the KZN and Transkei border, where undeveloped property exists). However there has been an exodus of most farmers from the region due to land claims, and the Shekinah property itself could potentially be subject to land claim. This combined with the geographical logistical concerns of maintaining a ministry so far removed from New Hanover, led the Board to choose to concentrate all projects at New Hanover.

A new Mission Statement for Shekinah Rural Developments based at New Hanover, that correlates with the original vision for the work In the Umzimkulu region, was formulated and adopted. (Read more >)

It is thrilling being part of a ministry consisting of oversight and team members from many walks of life and diverse Christian backgrounds. We left the indaba unified by the Spirit of the Living God, expectant of seeing Jesus glorified through the ministry in the future!
